The koi did look fatter than expected when I fished it out, is that normal (ie. for dead fish to bloat)? Anyone got any ideas about what a likely cause could be (assuming scrapes come back negative)?
Over the last few weeks this fish has been lying on his side at the bottom of the pond and not moving unless we approach him with a net. He sometimes suddenly starts zooming around the pond.
It actually worked fine and I've saved a good number of fish doing this over the years (sadly not the poorly koi - one which had dropsy with pineconing, and the other a severe outbreak of Costia).
